Well what a fabulous few days us girls have had on the road! You have all been great!
Thank you for coming to see us.
Only a few days left and we will be doing our last gig of the year at the
JAZZ CAFE, LONDON on SUNDAY 4th DECEMBER.
We are so looking forward to that and seeing you all.
In my last newsletter, I spoke about organising some Re-Joyce events in the run up
to Christmas. I will be doing a show in Coventry precinct at around 3pm SATURDAY 10th DECEMBER
and will be accompanied by Sarah Fishers wonderful Cambria choir who will travel up from
London especially for the occasion! Some of you may remember that they joined us on stage
at the Leicester Square Theatre earlier this year. So that promises to be an exciting event
and will be a full concert including all the favourites and ofcourse Re-Joyce.
I will also be participating in Coventry markets Christmas activities on SUNDAY 18th
DECEMBER where I will be singing along with some musician pals to help you get in the
Christmas spirit! This will take the form of several mini concerts all along the afternoon.
Both events are entirely free but you will be able to buy the Re-Joyce single and
make donations to Myton Hospice. I will be on hand most of the afternoon to meet you all
and sign your cds. So come along and join in the fun for a great cause.
If you are not able to be there, the cd is also available on Amazon mail order and
iTunes download. If you're strapped for cash, you could help by simply asking your fave
radio station to play Re-Joyce by The Hazel O'Connor Collective. Every single gest helps,
no matter how big or how small. Thank you.
I was very surprised to have been selected for the Wall of Fame in Coventry's
famous 2 Tone village. Pal and fellow artist on the Re-Joyce single Pauline Black of The
Selecter has also been chosen and that makes it all the more exciting. Our plaques will be
alongside other personalities such as Bob Brolly, Noel Davies from the Selecter, The late
Steve "Cardboard" Eaton, Lynval Golding Of The Specials, Vince Holiday and Panjabi MC.
Thanks to everyone that voted for me, i am most honoured. There will be an unveiling
ceremony in December, so I'll try and post some pics of the event on facebook.
Well I must dash, I have rehearsals with the choir....thanks from Sarah, Clare,
and myself for making this tour so successful and for your support with the new album,
I give you my sunshine!
Love from Hazel x

Newsletter from Ireland
News date: 9th November 2011
Hello Everyone!
Winters on its way and weathers turning cold! Luckily I've got my toasty turquoise socks that Clare
bought for me on the first leg of the I Give You My Sunshine Tour to keep my toes warm!
I am at home in Ireland and wanted to say a big massive thank you to everyone who came to
all the shows .....and for making them so special.
October saw first time visits and wonderful audiences in York, Goole and the amazingly
beautiful Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond. It was also great to get to get back to Manchester,
Chester, St Helens and the atmospheric album launch in Leamington. Clare, Sarah and I were so
pleased to meet up with so many of you, great pals old and new and all the loyal fans along the way.
Before leaving for Ireland I attended the launch of the Myton Hospices Nurse Appeal. It is
being organised by BBC Coventry and Warwickshire to raise funds for more nurses. Each new nurse
will care for 43 extra patients. As many of you know, my mum Joyce spent time at Myton Hospice for
respite. They cared for her wonderfully and I will be forever grateful to them.
At this very moment I am organising some fundraising events for Myton that I am very
excited about. They will probably take place at the end of this tour in the run up to Christmas.
As soon as all is finalised, I will let you know.
In the meantime, please help me to help Myton by buying the Re-joyce single. It would be
lovely to beat last years position in Amazons top bestsellers for them... Re-Joyce is a great
stocking filler and the proceeds go to such deserving causes, Myton Hospice and Help the Hospices.
There are links to Amazon on the web site. Every little gest can make a big difference, thank you!
I have been and are still doing numerous radio interviews. Links to some of them have been
posted on the web site and facebook. Please be aware that some of them are online for a short time
only, so if you want to listen, you'll have to be quick. There are a several press interviews too.
I haven't seen them but I understand that there are articles in Octobers edition of "The Word" and
Novembers edition of "Vive Le Rock". Theres also a wonderful online article written in French by
journalist Jean-Noel Potin. My team of helpers are busily translating, so if you don't speak
Franglais, we should be able to get that posted in English in a couple of weeks for you.
I have had time to do my first Tai Chi and karate lessons in what seems to be months.
Left me aching a bit, but so energised and feelin good. Got myself up into the loft to repair the
stop cock on the cold water header tank, thats bliss, no more scalding showers! Done tons of garden
clearance, but still have to get up on the roof to repair the hole thats leaking directly onto my
bed. Not very nice waking up in the middle of the night on a sopping mattress!
Tomorrow night (10th November), I'm doing a gig with the lovely Cormac De Barra at Boyles
of Slane so maybe I'll see some of you there. That is sure to be a blast and I am so looking forward
to that.
Then I have a few free days before hitting the road again with Clare and Sarah. We're all
really looking forward to visiting some great venues in Hampshire, Avon, Cornwall, Devon and London.
Coming up...Southampton, The Brook, Nov 24th; Bristol, Colston Hall, Nov 25th; Liskeard,
Carnlaze Caverns (yes its in an incredible underground cave with amazing acoustics!), Nov 26th;
Great Torrington, The Plough, Nov 27th; and we close the year with the re-scheduled Jazz Cafe show
in London on Dec 4th. Again, all details are on the web site,
Well thats all for the moment, so keep warm everyone - I give you my sunshine!
